Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a fitted bar after hosting a gathering where we ran out space. I chose to look near Reading Station.

I found the website while browsing and sent photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens replied with a quote that seemed right for the work.

The process of organising this project was actually quite involved. I dedicated several hours reflecting on the layout of the space before even picking up the device. My living area has always felt a bit unfinished, and having a proper area for beverages seemed like the perfect fix to that problem. I remember standing in my hallway looking at a cluttered surface covered with glassware and feeling that something had to shift. The first interaction with the team was extremely simple, which gave me assurance. We discussed various aesthetics, from modern minimalist designs to something classic and timber finishes. I was quite surprised by how many detail they requested regarding the dimensions and the current interior of my home. It felt like they genuinely desired the finished product to match perfectly with the balance of the property. I offered multiple views in the photos I sent, ensuring sure each corner was clear. They clarified that the bespoke type of the furniture signified that precision was entirely critical to avoid any problems during the fitting. We moved forth and back on possible resources, searching at samples of laminate and different kinds of timber patterns. It is surprising how many consideration goes into selecting the correct hardware, like knobs and copyrights, which can completely change the feel of the whole construction. I needed a space where I might comfortably prepare cocktails for guests without needing to repeatedly dash back to the kitchen for lemons or tools. The ease of possessing all items in one place was the main reason for this investment. We settled the design following a short consultation where all my questions regarding plumbing and electric sockets were addressed. I appreciated that they didn't hurry the planning phase, spending the time to ensure that the width of the racks was enough for my tallest glassware. It seemed like a collaborative process rather than a standard sale, which is hard to locate these days.

The fitting day came faster than anticipated, and the technician was on time and ready. He began by laying down safety sheets to ensure my carpet stayed tidy. Watching the parts being unpacked was interesting, as the quality of the materials was immediately obvious. He carefully verified the levels of the walls before securing the main structure of the bar. I watched as the structure gradually gained shape, changing a plain alcove into a functional piece. The degree of craftsmanship required in scribing the boards to the wonky walls of my period home was impressive. He explained how each section fitted in to provide maximum stability. We wasted a bit of time deciding on the exact position for the integrated fridge, making sure it was accessible to reach but tucked away from direct sight. The fitting of the worktop was the highly satisfying moment of the entire process. Seeing the smooth top at last resting on the base helped the project feel real. He next installed the mirrored backsplash, which instantly made the space to feel twice the breadth. The LEDs were wired next, and checking them for the initial moment was a highlight. The warm glow below the shelves highlighted the bottles beautifully. I could see exactly how handy this would be for night parties. The worker was very diligent, taking the time to wipe down every area and clear any dust made during the cutting. He also showed me the way to adjust the shelves if I later needed to house larger items. The focus to precision was truly great, right down to the sealant lines around the joins. It was obvious that he took immense pride in his craft, which is consistently good to see. We did a final walkthrough of the finished installation to make all was perfect. I noted that one knob was slightly loose, and he fixed it straight away with a quick twist of a tool. This diligence was exactly what I was hoping for when I booked the service.

The completed area looks completely stunning and has turned into the main point of my home. It offers a sophisticated feel that was formerly missing from my reception room. The storage is immense, enabling me to organise all my liquors, mixers, and specialist glasses in one cohesive place. No longer do I need to rummage inside cluttered kitchen cabinets to find a bottle opener or a specific type of tumbler. Everything has its proper home, which renders entertaining much much simpler and relaxing. I love the way the finishes catch the sunlight in the evenings, making a warm ambience. My friends have now praised the design several times, with some even asking for the contact of the company who made it. It truly feels like a bespoke addition made exactly for my needs. The elevation of the surface is perfect for leaning around with a glass, and the integrated lighting units provide just the right level of illumination without being too bright. Even when not in use, it serves as a beautiful item of furniture that elevates the entire aesthetic of the house. I used a bit effort placing my collection on the shelves to make a visual display. The mirrored panels truly help in showcasing the bottles and adding depth to the tight space. It has encouraged me to try making new cocktails that I before felt were too fussy to attempt in a normal setting. Having the tap close would have been nice, but the area limits meant we decided against it to preserve cabinet space. This was a conscious choice we made at the planning stage, and I do not rue it. The additional drawer room for straws and tools is much more useful to me in the run period.

There were a few of small limitations that are fair to noting for a honest view. The wait period for the bespoke panels was a little slower than I initially hoped. It took about six days from the initial deposit to the final installation appointment. While this is understandable for high-quality work, it required a some of waiting on my end. I had wanted to have it finished for a specific birthday, but we missed that date by a few days. However, the communication from the office regarding the delay was regular, so I was not kept in the dark. I would hold a bit more for a product that is built to endure than receive a rushed work that breaks after a few years. The initial price quote was additionally slightly less than the total invoice, mostly because I decided to improve the hardware and add more internal lighting midway through the build. These changes were completely my decision, and the company was very transparent about the extra costs required. Another small issue was the amount of packaging left after the fitting. Although the technician tidied up the build area perfectly, there was a significant pile of cardboard to get rid of in my bins. It wasn't a huge deal, but a thing to keep in mind if you possess limited waste space. Despite these minor details, the total journey was vastly positive. The standard of the fit is much superior to anything I might have purchased off-the-shelf. It feels solid and durable, and I am confident it will withstand decades of use. I feel the value it has given to my property well fitted bar outweighs the upfront outlay. It has transformed the way I enjoy my downstairs area, rendering it far more inviting. I no anymore feel cluttered when friends come over.

Thinking back on the whole project, I am really glad I opted forward with it. The initial spark originated from a trip to a friend's place in London, where they had a comparable setup. I realised then how much it enhanced the movement of the evening. When I returned to Reading, I began looking for local options and discovered that going with a bespoke provider was the only route to achieve the exact look I desired. The ability to pick each detail, from the colour of the paint to the position of the power outlets, ensured the end product was exactly as I envisioned. I even got a tiny hidden drawer built for storing expensive tools like fancy spoons. This level of customisation is what renders the experience unique. It didn't feel like a mass-produced item being fitted into a space where it did not belong. Instead, it feels like it has forever been a part of the house. If you are considering a similar home improvement, my advice would be to remain calm and spend the effort on the design part. It is much better to alter a drawing than it is to modify a unit once it is manufactured. The expertise offered at the beginning was crucial in stopping me from doing common errors, such as putting the cooler too near to a radiator. These little bits of wisdom are what you pay for when you choose experienced experts. I am now looking at different parts of my home to see where further I could install fitted storage. The success of this fitted project has provided me the drive to tackle a bigger task in the bedroom next season. It has been a great upgrade to my life, and I view forward to numerous years of using it with relatives and pals. Finding the right mix between looks and use was the aim, and I think we reached it completely. The process from a messy alcove to a sleek hosting point was truly deserving the effort and money spent. I today have a home that I am truly proud to show off to others. Reading has some nice places to go for a drink, but honestly, I now prefer being at my place and using my own personal bar. It offers the same feel without the noise or the commute. That itself was deserving the entire undertaking. I am so pleased with how the lighting functions in the night, providing a relaxing environment to relax after a long day at work. It is the small treats like this that render home life much pleasant and enjoyable. I highly appreciate the craft that was put into the finished product. The way the panels shut with a soft thud speaks plenty about the build level. No detail was overlooked, and the total appearance is precisely what I needed it would be when I originally began this process. It is a credit to the skill of the team and the standard of the materials used. I am a very happy client.
